Transitions

Rosemary Kooiman was laid to rest with her husband at Arlington Cemetery on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2007 in a private ceremony. When you have a chance, go to Arlington Cemetery and pay homage to her during the Samhain and Beltaine seasons.

Diccon Frankborn (Richard Eney) departed on Yule, December 21, 2006. His memorial service was held on March 9, 2007 at Paint Branch Unitarian Church. An ancestor altar will be available for memories at this year’s conference.

Midian (Kevin Drewery) passed of complications of HIV in 2008 in California surrounded by friends. He was a ministerial intern in both Ecumenicon Fellowship and the Unitarian Universalist church.

Tom Hufford (Balu) departed on Thanksgiving Sunday, November 29, 2009 of multiple causes. He was the tireless webmaster for Ecumenicon Fellowship and the Interfaith Fairness Coalition of Maryland for many years, as well as many other sites. See the memorial for him under Teachers under the conference site.

Alexei Kondratiev passed in the Spring of 2010 of an unexpected heart attack. We will miss this great scholar of many languages.

Black Lotus (Len Rosenberg passed in the Fall of 2010. He joins his partner Alexei Kondratiev in the Summerlands.

Blessing Bird (Rev. Amy Paul passed on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2011 of complications of cancer. She served the Native American community for many years, establishing a powwow in Havre de Grace, MD and being a faith representative at the Federal Correction Institute in Cumberland, MD; and the state institution at Jessup MD.

Dudley Cutshaw passed in the presence of his family in December of 2012. He was our original Deaf Liaison to encourage sign language interpreters for all conference events. His memorial service was held in his birth town in Michigan. Ecumenicon provided flowers.

TRUSTEES

The Trustees are the accounting body of the Fellowship, and are responsible for oversight of all ordinations, financial records, and legal representation of the Fellowship to State and Federal authorities as our church representatives.

Rev. Mary Jean “M.J.” Pierson, Interfaith Minister. M.J. Pierson is a 1981 graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary wiith an MRE. After leaving full-time educational ministry she studied and searched many of the major world religions. She bacame a Unitarian Universalist about twelve years ago and is an active lay person teaching and leading worship both in a UU congregation, a Pagan circle (Ra Luna) and in the Pagan community at large. Her passions include women’s studies, comparative religion, sexuality and inclusiveness, and planning ritual with individuals and groups for solemnizing the events of life. Ministerial Interns

Ministerial interns in Ecumenicon Fellowship and are in training in chaplaincy, pastoral care, sacristy work, and other appropriate clergy duties. The interns are available as clergy on a case-by-case basis for weddings (State of Maryland), handfastings, funerals, unions, and other rites of passage.
