This page has been set up for our virtual memories of members and friends of Ecumenicon Fellowship, particularly all of our spiritual ancestors in our many faiths. The list is alphabetical. Russ Anderson - great-uncle of Michelle Tracey (Miki), teacher of Stav at Ecumenicon and member of Ice & Fire.
Bear - Former Logistics Coordinator. Husband of Te. Bear was a friend to all, gruff and ready, but eager to help. Active in Ecumenicon Fellowship and Free Spirit Alliance.
Lady Circe - Elder Teacher at Ecumenicon 2009. Lady Circe, as Toledoans the last 35 years knew Jeffrey B. Cather, who was a shop owner, a witch, and founder and queen of a church, the Sisterhood & Brotherhood of the Old Religion, died Sunday in her Old West End home of respiratory failure. She was 82. 5th-Generation Witch.
Manos Clemens - Musician - could play by ear anything he heard once. Pianist and music director for MCC - Northern Virginia for 8 years. Inspiration for According to Us, the musical presented by A Company of Strangers theatre ministry.
Merrill Corkum - Poet, scholar, teacher, and actor. Taught at Ecumenicon 2001. Active in teaching literacy to the poor of DC.
Tami Cox - served as EMT at Ecumenicon for many years. She died suddenly of a heart attack on Thursday, January 28, 2010.
Paul Cunzeman - Teacher and Psychic. Paul was one of the founders of Menhir, a study group for spiritual Gay Men and was active in Assembly of the Sacred Wheel.
Christl Dangelmaier - Rik Fire’s mother. Died unexpectedly. Supported Rik in his many transitions.
Swami Prem Deben - Teacher. Swami Prem Deben taught at Ecumenicon 1 in 1988, and at Ecumenicon 5. He was a long-term teacher of Buddhist spirituality, and a true guru.
Lady Ingrid Dennison - Witch Queen. Lady Ingrid was an Elder of Ravenwood and teacher of Alexandrian Wicca for many years in the Washington area.
Bobbi Dresser - Spouse of Elspeth and Nybor.
Kevin Drewery - known as Midian - passed this life from complication of HIV in 2009. Midian was Religious Education coordinator for the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Silver Spring, working with the children and youth program. He also served at UU Las Vegas, NV, and was active in southern California. He created the Sacristan program for Ecumenicon. His memorial service at UUCSS is being held in November 2009.
Diccon Frankborn (Richard Eney) departed on Yule, December 21, 2006. His memorial service was held on March 9, 2007 at Paint Branch Unitarian Church. Diccon was active in the State Department, the Society for Creative Anachronism, and many spiritual communities. Husband of Tamar Lindsay.
Rev. Elder Jerri-Ann Harvey of Metropolitan Community Church, the first Cherokee woman to be ordained to any Christian denomination. She died of HIV complications in Spain in 2008. She was an inspiration to members of both Nomadic Chantry and Ecumenicon Fellowship.
Rabbi David Honigsberg - Teacher for Ecumenicon, Sacred Space, and Etheracon religious education conventions. Deeply rooted in Jewish spirituality and teacher of Kabbalistic traditions. Died of a heart attack in 2007. Active in Judaic and SF communities.
Richard Hood - Pagan Elder and Sweat Master.
Thomas E. Hufford (Balu) - conducted the Cleansing Sacred Space ritual for Ecumenicon for many years. He participated in the Tambors as the Giant Orisha Oggun. He served as Ecumenicon’s webmaster for 3 years. In 1994 he met his high priestess (Seanara) who introduced him to Western Transformational Wicca, in 2009 they were married at Darkover Science Fiction surrounded by friends. He passed over from the complications of colon cancer on Sunday, November 29, 2009. He conducted the Cleansing Sacred Space portion of the opening ritual for Ecumenicon in many previous years. He will be sorely missed. SSgt. U.S. Army (Retired) Thomas Eddie Hufford was a veteran of 20 years of service including Vietnam veteran. Auditor (Civilian), U.S. Army Audit Agency. BSIS, Kansas State University. Memorial service with military honors was held at Arlington National Cemetery, at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009, which would have been his 62nd birthday.
Abraham Kooiman - husband of Rosemary Kooiman, father of Kathleen Egbert, grandfather of Larry Obern. Buried at Arlington Cemetery, Purple Heart Veteran, one of the first with a pentacle on his tombtone.
Rosemary Kooiman - Rosemary Kooiman was laid to rest with her husband at Arlington Cemetery on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2007 in a private ceremony. When you have a chance, go to Arlington Cemetery and pay homage to her during the Samhain and Beltaine seasons. One of the four co-founders of Ecumenicon Fellowship. Buried at Arlington Cemetery, the first wife of a veteran to have a Pentacle on her tombstone.
Loraine Krauch - Close friend of Larry Obern.
Shawn Linderman - Former teacher at Ecumenicon - spouse of Adrian Tremayne.
Cindy Ludwick - Mother of Hank Kuhlfeldt - teacher at Ecumenicon and member of OTO.
Susan Petry - Student - friend of MJ Pierson.
George Rawlings - Baba George - Santeiro, founder of Temple of St Michael and co-founder of Temple of the Personal Path. Spoke from the heart. Died of complications of HIV. Devoted to the Seven African Powers.
