Rising Sun Terreiro

Rising Sun Terreiro (Terreiro Sol Surgiu) is an Umbanda congregation meeting in the home of Charles Butler and Fancy Cline every Wednesday evening.

We call upon Elegwa and the Orisha, upon saints and angels.

Umbanda is a fusion religion from West African, Shamanic, and European spiritualist roots. Each household is independent and calls upon the Spirit in its own fashion. We mix these traditions with Wiccan, Voudon, Christian, and Palo traditions.

We meet every Wednesday evening at our home at 3205 Kimberly Road, Hyattsville, MD 20782 from 7 pm to 9 pm. We request anyone coming for the first time to call at least an hour in advance at 240-764-5748 or cell 240-603-2620 or cell 301-538-1532. On very rare occasion we are not able to host the meeting and will leave appropriate messages.

We are a shared tradition. Come with your gifts of healing, teaching, and divination. All are welcome.

We joined with the Roosevelt Island Cleanup on March 5, and have been meeting with three or more people every week since. Bring your prayers, your holy ones, your needs for knowledge. All are welcome.
